AUTHOR: publics.bg

The 2nd Annual Conference of the RHC-Platform will take place on 5th and 6th of May, 2011, in Budapest, Hungary. The event will gather speakers from the biomass, geothermal and solar thermal sectors, as well as high level policy and decision makers, to plot the course toward widespread deployment of renewable heating and cooling technologies, and discuss the challenges for accomplishing this feat. Publics.bg is media partner of the conference.

Almost 50% of the total energy consumed in Europe today is used for the generation of heat for either domestic or industrial purposes. The vast majority of this energy is produced through the combustion of fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal. The European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling is the body of stakeholders who have come together to answer the questions about building a Europe that uses renewable heating and cooling technologies.

The RHC-Platform is also pleased to announce the launch at the 2nd Annual Conference of the Common Vision for the Renewable Heating & Cooling Sector in Europe, a landmark document which marks the collaboration of all Members of the RHC-Platform to provide the right impulse to ensure the deployment of future cost effective technologies in the renewable heating and cooling sector.

High-Level Speakers at the event include:

  • Mr Gerhard Stryi-Hipp, President of the RHC-Platform
  • Mr Péter Olajos, Hungarian Deputy State Secretary for Development of Green Economy and Climate Policy
  • Ms Marie Donnelly, Director of New and Renewable Sources of Energy, Energy Efficiency and Innovation, DG Energy, European Commission
