According to Traicho Traikov, even if Russia owns 20% of the NPP Belene project, the majority share in the future nuclear plant has to be state-owned, said the minister in front of media representatives today. In the same time, as a leader in the project, the Bulgarian state is responsible for finding financing for the project. Traikov also said, that NPP Belene has to become attractive for financing from the part of large energy companies in order to get investments.
At the official opening of the conference for development of a new energy strategy Traikov also said that the strategic projects are the one that are present in the strategy. According to the minister, currently there is still more work to do on the new Energy strategy of Bulgaria for the period until 2020 and even after that.
Traikov also announced, that currently there is common effort with the Norwegian regulatory body in the attempts to set up a new electricity exchange in Bulgaria. The new trading grid code is also being prepared, as well as the rules for development of renewable energy sources. The latter have to be ready before the end of the first half of 2010, announced the minister.
