Vestas signs order for 100 MW in Europe
Vestas has signed an agreement for a total capacity of 100 MW for several wind projects in Europe.

With reference to Vestas Wind Systems A/S’ company announcement No. 42/2010 of 8 November 2010, Vestas has signed an agreement for a total capacity of 100 MW for several wind projects in Europe.

The order comprises delivery ex-works, installation and commissioning as well as a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system. Delivery of the turbines is expected to start in the second half of 2011.

At the customer’s request, details about the customer and the projects cannot be disclosed.

Juan Araluce, President of Vestas Mediterranean, declares: “We are very pleased to receive this important order, which once again demonstrates Vestas’ global capabilities and our commitment to serve our customers in all the markets where they operate. Vestas’ 30 years of experience solely focused on wind technology, our wide product range and our full dedication to ensure our customers the highest return on their investment were the most important drivers that led Vestas to be awarded with this agreement.”

The wind power plants of this order will produce approx. 380 GWh per year, which corresponds to an annual emission saving of 137,560 tons of CO2 compared with average EU electricity. Furthermore, the annual production of 380 GWh per year corresponds to the annual residential electricity consumption of 240,000 persons in Europe.
