Bulgaria started a university rating system
It will support the users of educational services in Bulgaria, the Ministry of Education said

The Bulgarian University Ranking System Portal was officially presented yesterday. It has been developed to support education service users in their choice of a university. It provides broad information about accredited universities in Bulgaria and allows for comparison by professional field, based on various criteria. The ranking system allows producing rankings of different scope and type depending on the specific priorities and needs of the different education service users.

“Such a system, directed toward the result, the effect of the work of higher education, is being implemented for the first time”, the Minister of education Sergey Ignatov said. “It will be updated continuously and will be a base for the improving of higher education in Bulgaria.” he said.

There are 51 higher education entities in Bulgaria and they educate students in over 600 majors, distributed among 52 professional fields.

The Bulgarian University Ranking System Portal is the result of a project implemented by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science through the Operational Program “Development of Human Resources” - financed by the European Social Fund.
