First major railway project of operation program "Transport"
Official start of the procedure for participating in the bids for the project "Rehabilitation of railway infrastructure along sections of the railway line Plovdiv-Burgas"

Today Bulgarian Minister Alexander Tsvetkov officially launch the work of the Commission for examination, evaluation and classification of the submitted bids to tender for the project "Rehabilitation of railway infrastructure along sections of the railway line Plovdiv-Burgas". The deadline for submission of bids for participation was 10.02.2010 until 16.45 am

In the registry of the DP National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC). The project has a budget of 187.4 million euros, of which 64 % grant assistance from the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and 36% of the national budget announced by the NRIC and MTITS.

Railway line Plovdiv - Burgas is part of TINA network and the Pan-European Transport Corridor VIII. The existing railway line Plovdiv - Burgas is electrified with a length of 292 kilometers, of  which 139 kilometers - 153 kilometers and a single - a double line. Speed rail project A link varies between 100 - 160 km / h. Whole railway line is equipped with automatic train safety system (Automatic Train Protection System) type of ETCS Level 1.

The main objective of the project is to undertake the rehabilitation of railway sections along the railway line Plovdiv - Burgas. The project will contribute to meeting the commitments of Bulgaria for the development of rail infrastructure to reach European standards in line with EU policy and stable development of the trans-European transport networks.

The companies participate are : TERNA – Bulgaria, CLF S.P.A Italia, OHL ZS , Bulgarian consortium LV – TSB-GSB, Swietelski Austria, TSO Chemin du corps de gard France, Consortium Salchef-Energoremont  and Consortium C.M.C Trace – S. K. 13 Sofia
