The Council of Ministers allocated funds amounting to BGN 1 553 600 for the financial support of activities under the National Program "Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the system of pre-school and school education" approved in 2018. The funds will be used for Internet connectivity to all budget-supported schools, the government's press service reported.

The resources will also be spent on technically supporting the learning process in 149 institutions by introducing modern technologies in the educational process to help schools in computer-related activities and the introduction of educational innovations related to the learning process. The necessary funds for the implementation of the national programs for 2018 are provided by the budget of the Ministry of Education.

According to another government decree BGN 7 368 304 were approved for provision of activities under the National Program "Optimization of the internal structure of the staff in the institutions of the system of pre-school and school education" for 2018. The funds will be provided at the expense of the budget of the Ministry of Education for the current year. They are intended to pay compensation to staff for September and October 2018 due to a reduction in the number of employees due to a change in the structure and composition, termination of employment on another basis, or restructuring of the network of educational institutions.
