Due to the World Geographic Information System (GIS) Day, ESRI Bulgaria launched a national interactive card competition "We rediscover Bulgaria with GIS". Within the contest, each participant will have the opportunity to use one of the specially developed applications and to tell his story which will stay in time.

The interactive maps combine one or more web maps, accompanied by text, photos and multimedia content that can make every story exciting in a new, interesting and engaging way, using the universal visual language of geography. Stories can be related to a special experience, useful information, historical or factual data, personal or public project. Both organizations and individual participants can participate in the competition, with prizes awarded in the following categories:

1) Sustainable development - stories that relate to topics such as the environment, urban development, personal or public causes, good practices and examples from the activities of organizations and many others;

2) Education - Stories that focus on education and learning. Stories about school, university, courses and everything that helps us develop and enrich with new and useful knowledge;

3) History and culture - stories about cultural events, festivals, celebrations, traditions, cultural monuments, historical sights, cities, communities, nations, localities and many others;

4) Travel and tourism - familiar and unknown places, roads, sights and experiences related to the beauty of our homeland.

ESRI Bulgaria points out that in order to create their dynamic map, participants have to use one of the applications at www.storymaps.arcgis.com and can include all the resources they have - photos, videos, articles, etc. Participants must send a link to the map by 5 November 2018 at maps@esribulgaria.com. Viewing must not require username and password.

The winners of the contest "We rediscover Bulgaria with GIS" will be announced by 14 November 2018 when the 20th anniversary of the World GIS Day in Bulgaria in Sofia Hotel Balkan will take place. The winners in each category receive the following prizes:
