The teams of ESO EAD are actively working on preparing the company's facilities for operations during the autumn-winter season, the state-owned company said. The implementation of the operator's repairs and investment programs contribute to ensuring the security of the power system in the coming months.

Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the substations with systemic importance 400/220 / 110kV "Maritsa East" and 220 / 110kV "Karnobat" are under way. The replacement of the 110kV line "Ilinden" conductor will be completed, which will increase the security of power supply to consumers in Southwestern Bulgaria. The planned investment activities in the substations "Hadji Dimitar", "Krasno selo", "Zlatitsa", "White Slatina" and "Dobrudzha" were completed.

At the end of September the repair works were completed in substations "Sofia South", "Kresna", "Yakoruda", "Pleven 1 and 2", as well as in substations "Obraztsov chiflik", "Dobrich", "Balchik", Shumen 1 "and" Shumen West "," Pamporovo ".

In 2018 investments in new facilities continued with the construction of a new 110kV line between Trayana and Stara Zagora, as well as rehabilitation of 220kV Kamchia Air Line. The reconstruction and repair of the 110kV "Granichar" and "Bohott" air lines have been successfully completed.

A check-up of 217 substations was carried out. A two-fold tour was made on a total of 18,500 kilometers of high-voltage power lines. 6,200 decares have been cleared. 250 kilometers of lightning cables have been replaced. 245 stork protectors have been installed. Off-road vehicles and tech were prepared.
