The Government adopted an ordinance transposing a major part of the Directive 2015/2193 on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from medium combustion plants. The changes will reduce the risks to human health and the environment from emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and dust. This will lead to a reduction in the total annual emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, according to the National Program for Reduction of Total Annual Emissions of Sulfur Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides, Volatile Organic Compounds and Ammonia in the Ambient Air, the government's press service reported.
Additionally, an amendment of the Tariff for fees collected by the Ministry of Environment and Waters establishes new fees for registration of medium combustion plants.
The Ordinance on the emission limit values for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and dust released from large combustion plants in the atmosphere is also amended in order to achieve compliance with the European legislation.
Moreover, an amendment to the Ordinance on the quality requirements for liquid fuels, the conditions, the order and the way of their control introduces a new deadline for reporting to the European Commission, which is related to the requirements stemming from the European directive.
