Today, in the Enel Auditorium in Rome, Chairman Pierio Gnudi awarded the prizes to the winners of the international competition “We are energy”, open to children of Enel employees, ranging in age from 8 to 17 from the 15 different countries in which Enel operates.

The event was presented by Camilla Rznovich aided by Ricky Tognazzi.
Some 3,400 young people entered the competition “We Are Energy”, now in its seventh year, presenting their own ideas for improving the environment, which they shared with their peers.

After an initial selection at national level, the winning entries showing the most commitment, creativity and originality were chosen.

The 111 young prize-winners come from Italy (20), Spain (17), Bulgaria (10), Romania (14), Slovakia (14), Russia (14), Argentina (2), Brazil (2), Chile (2), Colombia (2), Peru (2), Guatemala (5), the US (3), France (3) and Greece (1).  They were all looked after at the Enel Castagneto Carducci Campus (Livorno) where they have been able to learn more about the issues at the heart of the science of energy and the environment, having a great time together with the support of expert tutors.

There has also been a vast amount of online interest with over 1,000 signed up to the web community and over 300 members of the Facebook community. Since January the special Intranet site has had over 10,000 hits to date.
