The Sofia Prosecution Office has filed and indictment against ex-energy minister Traicho Traikov, who has ran for president in the last elections, and ex-finance minister Simeon Diankov. In early January of this year they have been charged with deliberate mismanagement which led to damages to the state exceeding BGN 20 m (about EUR 10 m). According to Darik News, businessman Ivo Prokopiev and three executives with financial consultant Bulbrokers were also indicted for the sale of state shares in power distribution utility EVN Elektrorazpredelenie Bulgaria which was allegedly rushed and damaging to the Bulgarian state. The damages ensued from the sale of the state minority share of 33 per cent in electric utility EVN Bulgaria EAD in 2011. In January Traikov stated for BNT and Nova TV that the accusations were part of a defamation campaign against him, while Diankov has already been in touch with the prosecution after a day of national search. ![]() No published comments Login to comment |
