12.07.2017 17:43Bulgarian State Railways Paid Off Debt to One of Its Creditors
The total amount provided by EUROFIMA to BDZ amounted to BGN 40 m and was used for the acquisition of recycled rolling stock at the end of 2008

The Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) managed to pay off completely its debt towards one of its creditors. BDZ announced it has made a final payment of BGN 13.650 m to the European Company for the Financing of Railroad Rolling Stock (EUROFIMA). A few days earlier BDZ made a transaction of BGN 5.497 m to the same company.
The total amount provided by EUROFIMA to BDZ amounted to BGN 40 m and was used for the acquisition of recycled rolling stock at the end of 2008.
BDZ said that it was able to pay off more than BGN 19 m in one week due to internal reforms for improving the financial state of the national carrier during the last several years.
The debt of BDZ towards all its creditors totals BGN 393 m. The state-run company has so far apid in full its first bond loan, the EUROFIMA debt and two separate loans provided by KfW IPEX-Bank. (BGN 1= EUR 0.509)
