Former Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said he is always happy to visit to Azerbaijan.
Pointing out his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev, Rosen Plevneliev emphasized their signing the document on strategic partnership between the two countries. The Bulgarian and Azerbaijani counterparts signed a joint declaration on strategic partnership between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Azerbaijan in March 2015. The document outlines the willingness of the two countries to cooperate in the fields of pharmacy, information technologies, agriculture and food production, among others, and mostly, energy. The Southern Gas Corridor was among the chief topics in the agenda of the two Presidents during their meeting in 2015.

During today’s visit in Baku Rosen Plevneliev noted that President Ilham Aliyev's far-sighted policy contributed to the implementation of Southern Gas Corridor project. It is meant to bring natural gas from the Azerbaijani Caspian field Shah Deniz II to Europe towards the end of the decade.

President Ilham Aliyev recalled his visit to Bulgaria and his meetings with the Bulgarian President, hailing the excellent relations between the two countries. He expressed his confidence that fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria will further develop.
