Aurubis Bulgaria is planning investment program “Spectrum 2018”
In the metallurgical plant in Srednogorie region until now was made over 1 billion BGN investments into upgrading and renovating the equipment and introducing new technologies

The largest copper producer for Southeast Europe is planning investment program worth EUR 180 million under the title "Aurubis Bulgaria Spectrum 2018". It is planned in the period 2015-2018 and has several main aspects, which include direct and indirect investments. This has become clear within the frameworks of the press-conference on May 14, at which was presented the focus of the company for the future period – principles of sustainable production process and environmental protection.

In the metallurgical plant in Srednogorie region until now was made over 1 billion BGN investments into upgrading and renovating the equipment and introducing new technologies. Based on these achievements, the company has become one of the biggest investors in the field of industry in the last 25 years.

"Our main goal is Aurubis Bulgaria to continue to be successful in the future, but it will happen as with the participation of a team of professionals and under certain favorable conditions for doing business here. Some of the challenges we face today are administrative regulations and the cost of electricity for industrial consumers. All our actions will continue to be aimed at strengthen our plant in Srednogorie as Smelter of the highest global standard in the field of environmental protection and I am convinced that if we realize the planned program will achieve this goal, “said Tim Kurth during the press conference.

Among the key planned projects, part of the program are: upgrading technological equipment for further protection of the environment; improvement of the production processes, which will enable operation at maximum available capacity of the plant; construction of terminals for storage of raw materials and products across the ports of Burgas and Varna; realization of sustainable social development projects in Srednogorie region.

In 2016, as part of the investment program at the plant for copper processing is forthcoming capital repairs worth EUR 44 million. The annual partnership program with the municipalities of Pirdop and Zlatitsa worth over EUR 300,000 will also continue to run for the implementation of sustainable projects in education, sports, integration of disabled people, health.
