Sofia will host the yearly international business forum “Solar Balkans”. The initiative is jointly organized by the Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association in cooperation with SolarPV TV, Belgium. The event will be led between 28 and 30th of March under the 8th International Congress of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resources for South-East Europe at Inter Expo Center.
Publics.bg is main media partner of the event.
In 2011 “Solar Balkans” attracted more than 200 visitors from 42 countries and more than 36 000 viewers from around the globe. The conference has become an interactive platform for exchanging good practices and building partnerships between the companies from South-Eastern Europe and the global leaders in solar industry.
“PV markets in SEE are growing fast and local companies need to find the right partners for their projects. The same is true for global players willing to enter these promising new markets. “Solar Balkans 2011” was a great success and we expect it to be even better
this year.” claims Nikola Gazdov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association and
Vice-Chairman of the Solar Balkans Pogramme Comitee.
In 2012 “Solar Balkans” will once again gather business managers, financial institutions, and representatives of leading photovoltaic companies from the Balkan region.
The second edition of the investment forum will emphasize on photovoltaic development in the leading regional markets – Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Turkey. Special sessions will tackle the investment climate in Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The main topics in the programme are:
• Legal framework and administrative procedures in the discrete countries
• Investment climate and executing/building photovoltaic projects
• Current amendments in the RES act in Bulgaria
• Market development in 2012/2013
• Financing PV projects in South-Eastern Europe
The event will be featuring practical aspects of project financing and development, creating a link between investors and industry with even bigger than last year networking and business.
The Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association
The Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association (BPVA) is a nonprofit organization unifying more than 100 Bulgarian and foreign companies from the solar industry. BPVA members are companies with different profile- producers of solar panels, designers, installers, investors in the construction of photovoltaic power plants, project developers, financial institutions, investment companies and consultancies. BPVA supports the clean energy production from the sun. In this way we contribute to the reducing of carbon emissions and support the development of renewable energy sources in Bulgaria. Using solar radiation to electricity, we help to save the environment and reduce energy dependence of Bulgaria on the import of fossil fuels.
