The Bulgarian National Electricity Company (NEK) requested that the energy watchdog approves a 6% increase of electricity price, local newspaper Klasa reported.

The regulatory commission however stated that it would not approve higher electricity prices before July 1, when it usually reviews the prices. If NEK’s request is approved, this would lead to a more than 8% increase in households’ bills.
