Electricity exports to neighboring countries should be resumed in the next week, Bulgarian energy minister Traicho Traikov said today, as quoted by BTA.
According to the economy ministry’s data the electricity deficiency last week was about 400 MW an hour.
“We expect that next week the circumstances and the weather would allow us to resume exports. The system should be stable enough for that”, Traikov said.
All Balkan countries stopped electricity exports in order to guarantee their internal supply security.
Bulgaria did not export during the strike in Maritsa East Mines in January.
