![]() Danube Bridge will be equipped with electronic information panels The panels are part of the safety and traffic management plan for the road section Byala - Russe - Giurgiu - Adunatii-Copaceni
The project “Road management in the trans-border area Giurgiu-Russe – success strategy” was presented on a conference by the participating institutions, dir.bg announced. One of the goals of the project is to provide road safety and more efficient traffic management.
The main part of the project includes creation of a digital map with a database of all roads in the Ruse and Giurgiu region and also a surveillance and visualization system of the road traffic in this section of the road. “Besides traffic information the information panels will include touristic and disaster information”, the project’s consultant Strahil Karapchanski said. The digital map will have online public access and the information will be updated every day in English.
The project cost is estimated at 1 444 203 euros, where 80% from the financing come from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), 13% is provided by the budgets of Bulgaria and Romania and 3% is provided by the beneficiary. The realization has already began and should be finished by the middle of march 2012. ![]() No published comments Login to comment |
