Latvian capital receive first low-floor tram Skoda 15T ForCity on 15 April 2010. The tram is three sections, 31,4 m long with a capacity for up to 320 passengers. It has a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The trams are especially build and can run on temperatures of minus 40 °C.

The operator of public transport of Riga sign a 51,5 million euro contract with Skoda Transportation in May 2008 to supply 20 trams, with an option for another 32 vehicles, by January 2011. This was the first export contract for Skoda Transportation for it's model ForCity.
Riga’s tram network is a 1524 mm gauge network, with 244 stops The operator has a fleet of 252 old Czech build T3, KT-4 trams
