NewsFrom Bulgaria25.07.2013 15:48 Enegy Regulator Audits Grid Access Contracts of Renewables in Southeastern Bulgaria Watchdog experts which went through preliminary and final contracts for grid access of renewable energy installations connected to the grid of EVN Bulgaria
Experts from the State Energy and Water Regulatory Comission (SEWRC) visited the office EVN Bulgaria’s electricity distribution branch, which operates in Southeastern Bulgaria. According to an announcement by EVN, SEWRC carried out an inspection of the procedure according to which renewable energy units, most of which PV, were granted access the electricity distribution grid since 2011. According to Bulgarian laws installations up to 5MW are connected directly to the medium voltage grid, operated by distribution companies, while larger units are connected to the high voltage grid managed by the Electricity System Operator. EVN Bulgaria informed that the company fully cooperated with the watchdog experts which went through preliminary and final contracts for grid access of renewable energy installations. The SEWRC also paid a visit to a number of customer service offices of EVN in order to go through additional documentation.
This is not the first such inspection carried out by SEWRC in the offices of EVN. In April 2013 the regulator audited the implementation of EVN’s yearly investment programs for the period 2008-2013.
