![]() Turkey to Issue All Permits for Akkuyu NPP by End-2017 Russian energy minister Alexander Novak He described the actions of the European Commission (EC) towards the Nord Stream 2 planned pipeline as “outright sabotage” due to the EC’s involvement in commercial talks
Turkey will issue all the needed construction permits for the planned Akkuyu NPP by the end of 2017, so that construction works could start in 2018, Russian energy minister Alexander Novak said on Monday. Novak met with his Turkish colleague Berat Albayrak during the World Petroleum Congress in Istanbul, TASS and BTA reported. Novak reportedly also said that the landing point of Turkish Stream gas pipeline would soon be announced. He described the actions of the European Commission (EC) towards the Nord Stream 2 planned pipeline as “outright sabotage” due to the EC’s involvement in commercial talks. It was earlier announced that the Commission has prepared project mandates to lead the talks with Russia for the gas pipeline which is supposed to bring Russian gas to Europe via the Baltic Sea and Germany. According to a suggestion by the EC other Russian companies should also be allowed access to the pipeline. “We see an outright sabotage of infrastructure projects economically viable and attractive for the customers, such as Nord Stream 2. This is an interference with commercial relations between companies”, Novak said. ![]() No published comments Login to comment |
