Petyo Ivanov, CEO of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) will replace Jacklen Cohen as chairman of the board of directors of Kozloduy NPP, data from the Bulgarian Commercial Register show. This is the first change in the management of state-run energy companies since the inauguration of the interim government of Ognyan Gerdzhikov.

The BEH board decided to dismiss Cohen from the board of its subsidiary Kozloduy NPP on January 30. Cohen has not been dismissed of responsibility. The decision was voted by an unchanged board of directors of BEH, comprising ex dep.-energy minister Jecho Stankov, BEH CEO Petyo Ivanov, and Zhivko Dinchev, CEO of Maritsa East 2 TPP.

The same day there was a meeting of the new BD of Kozloduy NPP during which Petyo Ivanov was voted for chairman. The other two members remain the same – Ivan Yonchev and Ivan Andreev, the latter also acting as CEO of Kozloduy NPP.

Jacklen Cohen was CEO of the Bulgarian Energy Holding until February 2016, when ex-energy minister temenuzhka Petkova dismissed him with the motive of optimizing the holding’s functioning. Cohen however kept his seat at the board of Kzoloduy NPP which he has been occupying since December 2013.
