![]() Bulgaria Launched Onshore Oil and Gas Tender for 1-24 Kitka Block Tender papers can be bought during the 120 days following the announcement is published in the Official Journal of the EU
Friday Bulgaria’s government has announced the launch of tenders for two onshore natural gas blocks – Kitka, near the northeastern city of Varna. The 1-24 Kitka Block has a surface of 704 sq. km. The permit for Kitka will be for a period of five years, with the option to prolong it twice with two years. Tender papers can be bought during the 120 days following the announcement is published in the Official Journal of the EU. Participants can submit participation declarations by the 140th day, while their offers are expected to be submitted no later than the 155th day. The participation deposit amounts to BGN 5,000 (about EUR 2,500). The proposals will be assessed according to the suggested operation schedules, the funds earmarked for environmental protection, bonuses, staff training and the managerial and financial capacities of the candidates. In recent years Bulgaria has seen a raise of interest towards its hydrocarbon potential, with a consortium of Total, OMV and Repsol chosen in 2012 to prospect the offshore block Han Asparuh. In October of this year it was announced that Shell was granted a permit for the Silistar offshore block. ![]() No published comments Login to comment |
