The stakeholders in the ICGB joint venture for a natural gas interconnector between Greece and Bulgaria have reached an agreement on the clauses in the agreement for the project development, Bulgarian energy minister Temenuzhka Petkova said during an international energy infrastructure conference held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ms. Petkova further announced that the ICGB stakeholders are to set a date for the signing of the final investment decision for the interconnector which made its way into the list of so-called Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) of the European Commission concerning natural gas infrastructure. Petkova also stressed the importance of the planned gas interconnector with Serbia which, in her words, would bring about further market integration and an expected reverse gas flow. The Bulgarian energy minister added that the Bulgarian state has further undertaken a number of improvements on the national gas grid, worth a total of EUR 100 million. She emphasized the importance of the expansion of Bulgaria’s Chiren gas storage which is also a PCI. ![]() No published comments Login to comment |
