![]() Large Industrial Sites in Bulgaria Imposed Mandatory Energy Audit Every Four Years Energy efficiency draft law sets targets for buldings, production and energy producers, traders and distributors
The Bulgarian government announced today that it has prepared a draft law on energy efficiency which foresees mandatory energy audits for large production sites, as well as energy efficiency targets for energy producers and traders and distributors of certain fuels, above certain thresholds of power, heating or fuels sold, except for transport fuels. To cover their individual targets, the responsible parties will have the opportunity to make payments to the “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy” Fund or other financial brokers. The installments are determined according to a methodology forged by the Sustainable Energy Development Agency (SEDA). To ease the business, the state foresees that energy auditors will have the right to be registered as such for a period of 5 years, instead the current 3. What is more, all state buildings using heating and cooling should see at least 3 percent of their total built-up area get energy efficiency improvements each year. If different parts of the building are used for different purposes, separate certificate will be issued for each building section for energy efficiency retrofits. The draft law has been prepared in relation to the transposition of Directive 2012/27/EO. ![]() No published comments Login to comment |
